Diablo 4 patch 3.1.1 gives Season 14's Mythic chase a much-needed lift. Pandemonium Fragments are easier to earn, the Cube recipe is cheaper, and high-Torment farming feels less like a string of bad rolls. Players building a new character can also make better use of spare Diablo 4 runes and other gear while working towards their first serious Mythic attempt.
The biggest change is simple: the Horadric Cube now needs four Pandemonium Fragments instead of five. That one-point reduction matters. Corrupted Reaper can also drop up to two Fragments, with higher Torment levels offering the better payout. It does not turn Mythics into common loot, but it cuts down the time spent waiting for another roll.
How the New Farming Loop FeelsDeathtoll Chambers are now a more dependable starting point because high-Torment clears guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key. That removes a frustrating gap in the old routine. You can run the Chamber, get the key, then move on to Corrupted Reaper without feeling as if the game has quietly wasted your time.
  • Push the highest Torment level you can clear without frequent deaths.
  • Use Deathtoll Chambers to build Superior Lair Keys.
  • Farm Corrupted Reaper for the larger Fragment payout.
  • Pick up repeatable Glints of Hope rewards whenever they fit your route.
Glints of Hope now guarantees one Pandemonium Fragment as a repeatable reputation reward. It is not always the fastest activity for Fragments per hour, but it is useful when you are already completing seasonal tasks. A mixed route works better than grinding one activity until it becomes exhausting. You will earn reputation, keys, and boss attempts at the same time.
There is still a catch, and it is the one players will notice after the first few conversions. The Cube lets you choose a class, not a specific Mythic Unique. A random result may be excellent, or it may sit in your stash because it does nothing for your build. Keep Uniques that support an alternate setup, especially if they have strong rolls. Four Fragments should not feel like an automatic spending button.
The patch also fixes Mythic drop issues connected to some Unique sources, including Lair Bosses. Naturally dropped Mythics have a better chance to be Iconic Mythics as well, so direct farming is no longer something to ignore while saving for the Cube. A stable character with good boss damage will get more from the new system than a glass cannon that clears quickly but burns through attempts.
Patch 3.1.1 improves the pace of Mythic progression, but it does not solve the targeting problem. You get more chances and pay less for each one, yet the reward can still miss your build completely. For now, the smart approach is to farm steadily, keep useful gear, and spend Fragments when you have several worthwhile outcomes in the class pool. That makes the chase less painful, especially when your wider stash of Diablo IV Items is already supporting a strong endgame setup.
